Constructivism

The project started with tonal drawings of artist Naum Gabo, re creating angular forms and understanding how the pictorial image can be broken into sections to create a more abstract form. Perspective, light and tone all being key to creating a 3D effect, creating spacial movement.

Inspired by Richard Serra, students then created ‘zoomed’ in tonal drawings of Naum Gabo-

The next stage- building structural form in the style of Naum Gabo in relation to anatomy.

Sculpture card techniques

Before school closure, students were learning basic paper slotting techniques, first on thin card which would have been developed into Naum Gabo inspired head for a final piece in cardboard.
